Pillar To Post

This class action, brought on behalf of franchisees of Pillar to Post Inc., a home inspection company, alleges that the franchisor implemented a plan to convert franchisees’ exclusive territories to non-exclusive territories to the detriment of the affected franchisees.

Specifically, the plaintiffs allege that the franchisor failed to provide the required disclosure regarding certain changes to minimum gross revenue expectations, breached the duty of fair dealing owed to the franchisees and interfered with the franchisees’ right to associate contrary to existing provincial franchise legislation. The plaintiffs claim money damages and other relief flowing from the franchisor’s failure to comply with its legal obligations.
